School Library project

During the many visits by Heart to Heart Shanghai volunteers to the remote villages and schools attended by our sponsored children, we observed the lack of school library books generally available to the children in these disadvantaged rural areas. As a result, our School Library project was launched in June 2006.

Under this project, a donation of RMB 15,000 meets the full cost of providing a comprehensive range of library books covering the official curriculum for all the children in a disadvantaged rural school.

Teachers, students, parents and local officials joyously welcome the establishment of these libraries, giving further support to the old adage "Books are the Windows to the World".
